Tayler Remi

She/her

I work both online and in person in Manchester.
Online: Across the UK, Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand.

My autism and AuDHD are central to what makes me a good therapist. I naturally spot patterns — in language, in emotions, in the ways people protect themselves - and I bring that curiosity into the room. Therapy, neurodivergence, and humans are my lifelong special interests, so I never get tired of exploring them with you. In therapy, we might slow down to notice what’s been shaped by survival, misunderstood, or pathologised - and explore what becomes possible when those experiences are witnessed by someone who lives them too, not just understands them in theory. I don’t see autism or ADHD as something to fix, but as a normal and natural part of human diversity; the difficulties you face often come not from your brain alone but from trying to survive in a world that wasn’t built for you. That doesn’t mean I dismiss how distressing autistic or AuDHD experiences can be. Unmasking isn’t always safe, and many of us can’t live unmasked all the time. I’m here to hold that with you, and to support you in building a life that honours your neurodivergence and makes space for safe, joyful relationships, meaningful work, and moments of peace. You’re welcome to show up however you are: stimming, rambling, looping, going quiet, or taking time to find words. I’ll help track the thread if you lose it, or gently point out tangents if you’d like support finding your way back. My approach is person-centred, relational, and integrative. I draw on IFS-informed parts work, somatic therapy, and compassion-focused therapy because they fit well with autistic and AuDHD ways of being. Parts work helps make sense of masking and shutdowns without shame, and somatic therapy validates sensory differences and offers grounding when words aren’t enough. Compassion-focused therapy softens shame and builds self-soothing. Together, these approaches create space for your whole self to be met with respect and curiosity. Therapy with me isn’t about changing who you are, but about creating space for all of you to exist safely, fully, and without apology.

About Me and How I Work

Hi, I'm Tayler. I'm an autistic psychotherapist, and I offer therapy that meets you where you are, not where you think you're supposed to be.

I work primarily with autistic adults - many of whom are late-diagnosed, self-diagnosed, or still questioning. My clients often come to therapy after years of masking, burnout, or being misdiagnosed, and are looking for a space where they don’t have to translate their experience.

Some are exploring the diagnosis process, including NHS and Right to Choose routes. Others are processing the mix of relief, grief, and anger that can follow a late autism diagnosis. Many are living with shutdowns, meltdowns, sensory overload, or the loneliness that comes from masking and not feeling understood.

Research suggests that around 30–50% of autistic people also meet criteria for ADHD, and 20–40% of people with ADHD also meet criteria for autism. This overlap - often called AuDHD - can bring its own challenges: juggling hyperfocus and executive dysfunction, navigating both sensory overload and impulsivity, or carrying the weight of burnout from multiple directions at once. I work with autistic, ADHD, and AuDHD adults, offering a space where all of these experiences are held and understood.

What We Might Explore Together

- Pre- and post-diagnosis support: exploring autism, ADHD, or AuDHD; processing the emotions that follow diagnosis; questioning past labels through a neurodivergent lens

- Identity & meaning: unpacking masking, burnout, shutdowns and meltdowns; exploring how autism and ADHD shape relationships, work, or your sense of self; looking at intersections with gender, sexuality, class, race, or culture

- Relationships & connection: navigating friendships, dating, partnership, or family dynamics as a neurodivergent person; parenting in mixed-neurotype families; “coming out” as autistic or ADHD at home, in relationships, or at work

- Daily life & work: managing workplace or study burnout and accommodations; handling executive dysfunction, motivation, or hyperfocus; rebuilding after collapse or late diagnosis; making sense of how neurodivergence links with health or interoception

- Building a neurodivergent life: reimagining a life that includes rest, creativity, and special interests; finding joy and connection in ways that work for your autistic or AuDHD body and mind; exploring what it means to create a life where you can unmask at your own pace, without burning out.

I’m generally available to work with clients worldwide, except in regions where local licensing rules prevent me from practising (for example, the USA and Canada) or where regulations are uncertain (parts of the Middle East, Asia, Africa, and Latin America).
