Stacey Douglas

She/Her

I currently work online, offering flexible sessions accessible from anywhere in the UK. I also offer face-to-face therapy in Winchester, Hampshire, but in-person appointments are temporarily on hold due to an office move.

I'm a late-diagnosed Autistic ADHDer (AuDHD), and my own experience of discovering this in adulthood deeply informs the way I work. I know how disorienting it can be to finally find language for your experience - only to be met with outdated or pathologising narratives. My practice exists to offer something different. As a therapist, I show up as I am; warm, honest, compassionate, and gently pragmatic. I don’t believe in forcing change or ‘fixing’ people. I work collaboratively and at your pace, offering a mix of curiosity, nervous system understanding, and tools you can actually use in your day-to-day life. I’m an integrative therapist, drawing especially from a Polyvagal-informed approach. I love this framework because it offers both structure and flexibility - helping you understand what’s happening in your body and mind, while building insight and skills that support long-term wellbeing. It’s not about pushing through, but about working with your nervous system. Sessions with me are spacious, relational, and shaped around what feels useful for you. Humour, honesty, and safety are important here. My goal is to help you feel more like yourself - not more like who the world expects you to be.

Who I work with

I work with neurodivergent adults - both diagnosed and self-identifying. Many of my clients come to therapy looking to understand their identity more fully, manage the impact of masking, recover from burnout, and create more regulated, authentic ways of living.

Whether you’ve recently discovered you’re neurodivergent or have been living with questions for a long time, therapy can offer a supportive space to untangle your experiences and begin building a life that actually works for you - not just one that looks okay from the outside.

A big part of how I work is empowering you to understand how your body and brain work, so you can meet your unique needs authentically, moving towards better balance and wellbeing.

Qualifications & Professional Background

I am an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and hold full professional indemnity insurance.

With over 14 years of experience, I have worked in senior roles within private mental health before establishing my own private practice, where I offer both therapy and coaching. My clinical background is supported by an MSc in Psychotherapeutic Counselling, a Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling.

I’ve also completed specialist training in Performance Coaching & NLP (Level 5 Diploma), an Approved Certificate in Clinical Supervision, and Levels 1, 2, and 3 of EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing). Alongside this, I have pursued various other CPD including Transactional Analysis, Compassion Focused Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Central to my work is Polyvagal Theory - I have undertaken Foundations in Polyvagal Informed Practice and the Polyvagal Learning Lab Series 2 through the Polyvagal Institute, as well as a Certificate in Somatic Embodiment & Regulation Strategies. Additionally, I was honoured to be a member of the training team for Deb Dana’s international programme, which has deeply enriched my understanding and application of a Polyvagal Informed therapeutic approach.
