Gravesnd (In-person), Online Europe-wide

If you're new to counselling then I'd like to explain how I work. This helps you to understand what to expect (and I really encourage you to reach out for a friendly, informal chat too!). The first session is a space for us to explore what specifically has led you to seek counselling with me: maybe you have recently been diagnosed and feel overwhelmed by everything and need to unpack it with someone who "gets it". Perhaps you were diagnosed in childhood and have some trauma from this; or maybe Neurodivergence has just appeared on your radar, and you are starting to relate and want to explore it with someone. Whatever the reason, we will start by forming a picture of your difficulties and how we can approach them, together. I aim to facilitate a sense-making process of your experiences through a compassion-focussed, Neurodivergent lens, with the aim of slowly freeing yourself from the often-immobilising pain and shame of years of ableist experiences. I welcome and invite you to find creative ways of expression within - and between - our sessions (such as drawing, journaling, music, song lyrics, stories, films…anything that speaks to you). We do not have to follow any neurotypical "talking therapy rules"!) To assure you of my professional credentials: I am a registered member of the BACP Fully insured with Holistic Insurance Enhanced DBS checked via NHS (yearly update registered) ICO registered and GDPR compliant

About Me and How I Work

Hello! Welcome to my listing. I work specifically with Autistic/AuDHD/ADHD adults age 21+ exploring their Neurodivergent identity. I find myself working mostly with Gen Z/Millennial clients who are navigating very specific challenges: anxiety from high-masking relationships, influence of social media, traumatic educational experiences like school or university, parenting young neurodivergent children, loneliness, career difficulties, and identity struggles.

Qualifications & Professional Background

Academic Qualifications:

Diploma Therapeutic Counselling
Post-Graduate Certificate Applied Positive Psychology (Distinction)
BSc (Hons) Psychology (First)

I have several years counselling experience which spans community counselling services, NHS, and now full time in private practice. I completed a post-qualifying placement with South London and Maudsley NHS Trust gaining valuable experience working with Neurodivergent clients diagnosed with BPD/EUPD, using a type of therapy called Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT). This helped me understand the widespread misdiagnosis of personality disorders in women, often in teen years.

I trained as an integrative counsellor and draw on person-centred, psychodynamic, and third-wave cognitive therapies like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I think ACT is one of the most Neurodivergent friendly models of therapy and I love integrating the principals of this in sessions. I've also completed many Neurodivergent specific CPD courses, including ones that ensure my work continues to be truly neuro-affirming and anti-oppressive.

But if all that just sounds like theoretical gobbledygook, the takeaway here is that I'm Neurodivergent, qualified, experienced and highly relatable (with a strong emphasis on compassion and self-acceptance!). I can’t wait to hear from you!
