Online and in person in central London

I have yet to meet anyone who set out on a relationship with the intention of making their partner feel miserable, and yet, very often, that's exactly how things turn out. I believe most people are decent, caring individuals. I also believe that most of us enter into romantic relationships fully intending to be the best partner we can be, so why do things go so wrong? The reason, I think, is the fact that human beings are very bad at reading other people's minds, but they don't know they are. So when Partner A does something, Partner B imagines they know why, and reacts in response to that imagined reason (very common imagined reasons are: He doesn't care about me; She doesn't love me; He doesn't find me attractive; She's never satisfied etc). I see my role as helping couples learn to stop attempting to mind read and start communicating in ways that really work. I was diagnosed ADHD at the age of 57 and Autistic at 63. I have been married to my wonderful neurotypical wife for 28 years and have four adult children, two of whom are also fabulously neurodivergent.

Who I work with

I specialise in working with neurodiverse couples and neurodivergent individuals, online and in person, from my practice in central London.

About Me and How I Work

I hold a postgraduate diploma in psychotherapeutic counselling and a postgraduate certificate in autism. I am a UKCP-registered psychotherapist and a member of the UK Association of Transactional Analysis. I also run training programmes for counsellors and psychotherapists on working with neurodivergence and couples counselling.
