Gemma Ewins

She/Her

Online from East Sussex, UK

I am a Person-centred therapist, which means I seek to deeply understand your unique needs, and meet you with honesty and acceptance. We will work together in a collaborative way, you control the direction we take, while I bring structure, safety and expert support. My values and approach are holistic and anti oppressive. I am committed to: antiracism; gender, sexuality and relationship diversity (GSRD); and disability rights.

Who I work with

I welcome enquiries from any adult looking for a space to talk.
Many of my clients come to me after a late diagnosis of Autism, ADHD or AuDHD to explore the issues and questions this can raise. I also work with self-identified neurodivergent people, and those curious to explore possible neurodivergence.
I work online using zoom, and can also offer email therapy for those who prefer to communicate in writing.

Qualifications & Professional Background

Since graduating with a Post Graduate Diploma in Person-centred Counselling in 2009 I have worked as a therapist within the Education sector, a range of charities and in Private Practice. During the pandemic I volunteered to provide counselling to frontline employees in the NHS.

Before training as a therapist I was a teacher and have taught in a number of settings in the UK and overseas. I have also worked in administration and retail roles, within the NHS, local government, charities and the private sector.

I have taught on a number of Counselling training courses, from Introduction level through to Foundation Degree. I currently facilitate Personal Development groups for Post Graduate student counsellors at a local University.

I am an Accredited member of the BACP and abide by their ethical guidelines.
I hold Indemnity insurance with Everywhen (formerly Towergate).
