Becky Grace Irwing

She/Her

I work online with clients across the UK and internationally (excluding the United States). I also offer in-person sessions from my private practice office in Norwich, Norfolk, UK.

I’m an autistic CBT and EMDR therapist with a background in mental health nursing, specialising in complex trauma, eating struggles and neurodiversity. As a person and therapist, I’m warm, grounded and direct — I don’t do surface-level therapy or endless coping strategies. I’m interested in the real patterns underneath your distress, the parts of you that were never understood, and the life you want to build once survival mode isn’t running the show. My therapy style is collaborative, honest and deeply person-centred. I integrate CBT, EMDR, parts work, somatic approaches and neurodiversity-affirming support so sessions feel regulated, spacious and genuinely transformative. I work especially well with deep thinkers, sensitive souls and adults who feel “too much” or chronically misunderstood in traditional therapy. Sessions with me tend to feel calm, structured-when-needed, and emotionally safe — the kind of space where you can take a breath, slow down and actually hear yourself. I believe therapy should help you understand your nervous system, unlearn old patterns, and reconnect with your authentic self, not just manage symptoms week to week. I work both online and from my quiet, cosy therapy office in Norwich, and I also offer EMDR intensives if you prefer deeper work that isn’t tied to weekly therapy.

Who I work with

I work with autistic and ADHD adults, including many people who are late-diagnosed, self-identified, or questioning their neurodivergence. My clients are often navigating masking, burnout, identity overwhelm, emotional intensity, and long-standing patterns that haven’t shifted in traditional therapy.

I also specialise in supporting adults with complex trauma, eating disorders, binge eating, and high-functioning survival patterns — especially those who describe themselves as deep thinkers, sensitive souls, over-responsible, or chronically misunderstood.

Many people come to me because they feel “too much,” “too analytical,” or “too emotional” for other therapists, or because they’ve never quite had therapy that gets the way their brain works. I offer autistic- and ADHD-affirming therapy, EMDR, and nervous-system-based work that helps you understand your patterns, reconnect with yourself, and build a life that actually fits you.

I work online across the UK and internationally (excluding the US), and in-person from my therapy space in Norwich, Norfolk.

Qualifications & Professional Background

I am a BABCP-accredited CBT Therapist, EMDR Therapist, and Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with over 15 years’ experience working in mental health. I originally trained in the NHS before moving into private practice, where I now specialise in complex trauma, eating disorders, and neurodiversity (autism and ADHD).

My core training is in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and EMDR, and I integrate CBT-E for eating disorders, trauma-informed parts work, somatic and nervous-system approaches, and neurodiversity-affirming practice. I have extensive specialist training in trauma, dissociation, binge eating, ARFID, and supporting autistic and ADHD adults.

I’ve supported clients across inpatient, community, university, and private sector settings, and now work solely with adults in my private practice.

I am a registered and accredited member of:

BABCP – British Association for Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapies (Accredited CBT Therapist)

NMC – Nursing & Midwifery Council (Registered Mental Health Nurse)

I hold full professional liability insurance for online and in-person therapy, including international work (excluding the US).

You can get in touch or book a consultation through my website:

You can also email me directly at:
