Alice Tew

She/Her

Online, Cheshire, UK

I'm Alice, and I've been working as a therapist for 11 years. I'm particularly passionate about helping autistic adults develop the kind, understanding inner voice you might never have had growing up. My approach is built around: * Autism-affirming therapy that celebrates your brain rather than trying to fix it * Reparenting work to heal from childhood emotional neglect and build genuine self-compassion * Understanding your different parts including that critical voice * Sessions that work with your sensory needs rather than against them I believe your struggles aren't personal failings - they're completely understandable responses to growing up autistic in a world that didn't meet your needs. Together, we'll explore how masking and perfectionism became survival strategies, and find gentler ways to be authentically yourself. What makes this different: * I'll take the time to understand your unique autistic presentation * I understand how autism and childhood emotional neglect intersect * We'll separate what's actually you from what you've absorbed from others * The focus is on genuine self-acceptance, not learning better masking techniques

Who I work with

I work with autistic adults (diagnosed or self-identified) who are exhausted from trying to be "good enough" all the time. You might be someone who:

* Masks so much you've forgotten who you actually are underneath
* Has emotions that feel overwhelmingly intense and doesn't know what to do with them
* Carries a really harsh inner voice
* Cycles between perfectionist overachieving and complete burnout
* Struggles to set boundaries without feeling guilty for days

Many of my clients are bright, capable autistic people who look successful from the outside but privately struggle with self-loathing, imposter syndrome and the sheer exhaustion of constant masking. You might have grown up with emotionally immature parents who couldn't understand your sensory needs, big feelings, or different way of seeing the world.
