Peter K. Linden, LCSW
He/Him/His
I provide in-office, in-home, and virtual Gestalt psychotherapy sessions. All in-office sessions are held out of my home office, which is located at 5 Roosevelt Place, Apartment 4R, Montclair, NJ 07042. Finally, I offer in-home individual therapy, couples therapy, and a mutual aid group for neurodivergent adults 25+ who have difficulty leaving their homes.
I work with highly educated neurodivergent adults 25+ experiencing shame, fears of rejection, dread, transphobia, homophobia, social/familial ostracism, burnout, shame, separateness, loneliness, hypervigilance, and difficulty advocating for their needs, which manifest as low- to medium support needs autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and other learning disabilities. I also offer in-office, in-home, and virtual Gestalt psychotherapy sessions.

About Me and How I Work
I practice gestalt therapy, a present-oriented therapy that helps clients understand how their repetitive ways of thinking, feeling, sensing, experiencing, and communicating are getting in the way of what they want in life. Sessions are co-created, open-ended, and spontaneous, where I propose experiments in the moment to deepen awareness of whatever you are feeling, sensing, and needing. As you become more aware of whatever you are experiencing in the moment, you can more easily communicate your needs, unmask, and develop relationships based on love.
Qualifications and Professional Experience
I am a Gestalt psychotherapist with an extensive background in psychotherapy, as demonstrated by receipt of a Master of Social Work from New York University, a clinical fellowship in gestalt psychotherapy from Gestalt Associates for Psychotherapy, membership in the New Jersey State Society for Clinical Social Work, and experience with neurodivergent adults in public health and private practice. This background, coupled with lived experience as an AuDHD man, means that I am more than equipped to serve members of the neurodivergent community.
As far insurance is concerned, I am an out-of-network provider. At the end of each month, I will provide you with a super bill that includes the CPT codes, service dates, and diagnosis for all psychotherapy sessions.
Next Steps
I am accepting new clients for virtual individual, couples, and group psychotherapy sessions in CT, FL, HI, NJ, and NYS. I also offers in-person sessions for NJ based clients out of my home in Montclair, NJ and for NYC residents in the Flatiron District. Finally, for clients who have difficulty leaving home, I offer in-home therapy within 40 miles of Montclair, NJ. Before sessions can start, I will conduct a free 30-minute consultation call with you. The consultation call will explore your reason for seeking therapy and whether I am best suited to help. If I decide that you would be better served by another experiential and relationally oriented psychotherapist, I will refer you to one of my colleagues or locate clinicians in the community. After identifying that you are a good fit for therapy during the consultation, I will email you the required onboarding documentation and schedule an intake, which is a 2-hour interview to better understand your reason for seeking therapy. Once the intake is finished, a weekly session will be scheduled.
